Motul 7100 10w40 4-Stroke Motorcycle Oil is a fully synthetic oil for 4-stroke motorcycles manufactured with group V ester bases.

Motorcycle applications:

High performance motorcycles, road, trail, dirt bikes, enduro, trial... equipped with 4-stroke engines with integrated gearboxes or not and oil bathed or dry clutch, engines designed to use low viscosity lubricants, meeting Euro 2, 3, 4 and 5 anti-pollution standards equipped with exhaust gas treatment systems: catalytic converters, air injection in the exhaust...

Particularly recommended for SUZUKI, KAWASAKI, YAMAHA, which recommend SAE 10W-40 grade oil for some of their models.

Other applications: motorcycles without catalytic converters, scooters, ATV's, UTV's..

Properties

Ester technology:

• Esters have a low traction coefficient to reduce friction losses inside the engine and improve performance.
• Ester synergy with anti-wear additives and shear resistance to ensure the longevity of the gearbox gears.
• 100% synthetic lubricant to improve the resistance of the lubricating film at high temperatures and high engine speeds.
• Optimized low phosphorus and sulfur (according to JASO MA2 < 1200 ppm) to ensure the performance and durability of the exhaust catalytic converters.
• Gearbox protection thanks to innovative anti-wear additive technology: FZG test results = FLS>14: The FZG test (Forschungsstelle für Zahnrader und Getriebebau) evaluates the lubricating and anti-wear protection capacity of the fluid between two pinions subjected to loads of varying intensity.

The lubricant is classified according to its "load failure severity" called FLS (Load Phase Failure) from FLS 1 (very bad result) to FLS 14 (exceptional result).

JASO creates its own standard - JASO T903 - for 4-stroke motorcycle engines which involves three levels: JASO MA, MA1, MA2.

The JASO MA2 specification offers the highest friction level to ensure perfect clutch friction in all three phases of operation:
